CASA Family Services
Women's Shelter
October 31, 2008

Emeralds of Distinction and the Les Charmes Club, two all
female service organizations at Orangeburg-Wilkinson HS,
collected donations for the CASA Family Services women’s
shelter on Oct. 31, 2008 at the high school.  Classes,
various clubs/organizations, and individuals from the school
donated items such as blankets, baby clothes, toiletries,
games/toys, and sweatshirts for the shelter’s occupants.
During the school day Ms. Marcia Davis-Taylor of CASA
Family Services provided information to the faculty, staff,
and students on domestic violence while members of EOD
and LCC collected and sorted the donations.  The students
were also assisted by Jeremiah Douglas of Changing the
Perception, a local community service organization.  The
faculty advisors of Emeralds of Distinction and Les
Charmes Club are Sharlene Foster and Robin K. Wright,
respectively.
